$40,250.16 is a HUGE amount of money.
That is the total of my debt as I start this project. I have never at one time possessed even 1/3 of that amount. Still, I have to get rid of it, so this will be where I document that effort. Each month on this page I will account for payments made by myself as well as amounts that have come in from this site towards the total. Currently I am paying an average of $1000.00 per month to 3 different credit cards, all of which have high interest rates. This page will contain a monthly breakdown of each account, including payments made, interest accrued, and any new charges. New charges should be limited to certain monthly fees that are currently drawn from one of the cards for internet services and Ebay seller fees. Any other new charges that may occur will be explained. (An explanation of where all of this debt came from in the first place will be found in the STORY section of the site.)
SEPTEMBER 2007:
I had to pay a lot less into the debt this month what with the whole "not working" thing hanging over my head. I still managed to make a little over the minimum payments on each one. It is going to have to be that way until I get a more serious amount of money coming in.

I feel that is a great result so far, but it is also a little scary to think that it is based on $7,720.00 worth of payments over 7 months. I guarantee I could have found better uses for that money had I not been carrying this debt!

DECEMBER 2006 / JANUARY 2007:
Big changes since the last update! I have successfully transferred the balance of my largest high interest card to a MUCH lower interest card. Doing this in December allowed me to coast that month on the big payment and make a smaller initial payment in January which helped me to get ahead in other places in my month to month finances. That is something that has been exceedingly difficult to accomplish with those giant payments due every few weeks, and it has given me some breathing room to get a handle on where I am with everything and get some other projects underway that will bring in more money in the future. Now I re-start the process with my payments making a larger dent in the principle. The payments for February have already been sent out and will show the biggest decrease yet in the debt number when that update goes up in a couple of weeks. Thanks to everyone who has helped out with this so far! It is going to work!
